"The Sausalito Historical Society is looking for your Sausalito photos of bygone days. We would like to preserve and add to our online collection memories of the past. Please contact the Historical Society if you would like to share."
Ice House Plaza Project Entering Final Stages
The Ice History Museum was the brainchild of beloved historian and cartoonist, Phil Frank. Following Phil’s death in 2007, Bea Seidler of the Sausalito Foundation took up the cause of building the adjacent Ice House Plaza that Phil had always envisioned. When Bea passed away in 2014, the Sausalito Historical Society stepped in to help the Foundation to complete the project.
We’re now nearing our goal of $320,000 in community donations to build the Plaza….
Exhibit Spaces maintained by the Society feature in depth displays about Sausalito history:
- The Phil Frank History Research Room
- The Downtown Ice House Historical Exhibit
- The Historic World War II Marinship Exhibit at the Bay Model.
Current Exhibit: "No Name Bar: The Wonder Years 1959-1974" Opens May 11, 2018
