Sausalito Historical Society History Talk “Authors” Free!

Rick Seymour, Lew Welch, Shel Silverstein, Evan Connell, Maya Angelou, and Daniel O’Connell.
“Authors” is a new exhibit by the Sausalito Historical Society highlighting the published works of 40 late Sausalito writers.
The collection includes poets, novelists, playwrights, story tellers, maritime adventurers, academics, biographers, screenwriters, cartoonists, pundits and characters in their own right.
This event will take place May 22nd at 6 p.m. at the Sausalito Library where several members of the society will do several short readings of the writings from a few of the authors in the “Authors” exhibit. Authors include Shel Silverstein, Rick Seymour, Maya Angelou, Daniel O’Connell, Evan Connel, and more.
Come enjoy a taste of Sausalito literary history compliments of the Sausalito Historical Society and the Sausalito Public Library.
Opening of the “Authors” exhibit!
Authors Exhibition Opening April 10th 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
An Opening Reception will be held on Friday April 10th at 6 p.m. on the top floor of City Hall in the Historical Society exhibit room.
“Authors” is a new exhibit by the Sausalito Historical Society highlighting the published works of 40 late Sausalito writers. The collection includes poets, novelists, playwrights, story tellers, maritime adventurers, academics, biographers, screenwriters, cartoonists, pundits - and in some cases - characters in their own right. On view are author biographies, quintessential quotes, and copies of their publications.
Many of the publications are available from the MARINet county-wide lending library system, https://marinet.bibliocommons.com/ While many of these works are out of print, a few can be purchased from the Sausalito Historical Society and some are available online.
The exhibit can be viewed on the top floor of City Hall in the Historical Society offices during these hours:
- Monday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- 2nd and 4th Saturday of the Month 12 p.m. to 3p.m.
